Verticals are such a bummer with flash units! But all you need to do is flip your flash head up and you'll have soft, smooth lighting. Typical diffusers change the shape of the lightsource when you flip vertical (to a much smaller surface). WATCH THIS VIDEO ON HOW I DID THESE IMAGES...
