INTRODUCING THE
AMBERDOME™
FOR THE
LIGHTSPHERE®
CLOUD!
INSTANTLY WARM
UP YOUR IMAGES
IN COOL SITUATIONS (for
CLOUD only - will not fit previous models of Lightsphere)
Pictured
to the left is the new Amberdome Lid for the Lightsphere®
II CLOUD. There were many users who requested a warming filter
for the light. So we made it after extensive testing, and it
does a great job of warming your light in the following situations:
- Outdoors at dusk or
early morning
- Outdoors in Open Shade
(set camera to auto-white balance)
- Interiors with tungsten
lighting (set camera WB to "tungsten" setting)
- Shooting sunsets with
the sun at your subject's back.
-
Here's another video:

-

-
- What
is so neat about the ability to "swap
tops" is it is so fast to switch. Rather than switching
the whole Lightsphere, or having to custom white balance your
camera, if you want warm lighting, just put the top on and you're
good to go!
-
Here's
a great example: With most digital
cameras (Especially if you are a Canon or Nikon
shooter),
you'll notice that in open shade your images are way too cool.
But put on this dome (technically it's known as a 1/4 C.T.O filter)
and your images will look much more pleasing!
YOU'LL SEE THE DIFFERENCE
IMMEDIATELY RIGHT ON YOUR LCD SCREEN
FOR
THE MOST ACCURATE LIGHTING, USE THE AMBERDOME
- The
image above left has a background
that is too warm. The round lantern lighting is not "ORANGE"
as it appears, it is more balanced like daylight. So putting
the amberdome on, and setting the camera's white balance to "TUNGSTEN"
evens out the flash with the ambient light in longer exposure
situations, giving a more balanced look.
HERE'S A SHOT IN A
WARMLY LIT BALLROOM - notice how the flash tends to "disappear"
in with the ambient lighting:
This shot was
done at 1/45sec at f2.8,
ISO400, camera set on "Manual" mode, flash set on "E-TTL"
with a Canon EOS30D, 430ex Flash Unit, Cloud Lightsphere®
and Amberdome™. (Note: For more instruction, take advantage
of our FREE DVD offer with any Lightsphere™ Purchase)>What
I like most about
lowering the color temperature with your flash is that when your
flash is warmer, skin tones are more flattering, and the "flash"
tends to disappear.
As a professional
photographer,
I've always have been trying to make my "flash" equipment
undetectable. Using the Lightsphere™, I've made on-camera
flash look like a huge, soft lightsource similar to a studio
softbox. But then the light was daylight balanced, so putting
on the Amberdome™ warms the light up and helps it to blend!
This
accessory dome is for the LIGHTSPHERE CLOUD ONLY. It is not recommended
for use on the CLEAR model because the CLEAR model shows too
much of the amber color. The CLOUD spreads it evenly throughout
the soft white opaque color and creates a perfect color balance.
If you love your
Lightsphere®
CLOUD, you'll love it even more with the ability to instantly
warm your light output!!!

Gary Fong ChromeDome
 |
The ChromeDome™ Increases light output dramatically while still keeping the diffusion properties. You will have up to double the power and efficiency, but the look will be identical.
The ChromeDome™ was made for the Lightsphere-Universal and Lightsphere-2 Cloud Model only - it does not work effectively with the clear model.
|
 |
There is an open top to allow clear light to hit the ceiling. A chrome-plated kicker panel blows light forward, while the inverted bowl blasts more light into the bowl, brightening the bowl.

Check out this video demonstration which shows how the unit works, and images taken with/without the Chromedome!
